Suite for Qanoon and String Orchestra

The music of the Orient has been always beset with mysteries; These silent secrets have been latent for their incompatibility with the international standards and did not gain the chance to sparkle. Having employed the themes of Maqam music within the international frames, the present composer strives to put this missing link in the right place.

Suite for Qeychak and String Orchestra

Regional musical instruments are mostly known in their homelands. The folk songs of these instruments narrate their local culture and indicate the festive and grieving ceremonies of their people. These micro-cultures are vanishing as a result of the lack of access to media; consequently, many folk songs and melodies are also sliding into oblivion. Presenting the folk music with a classical orchestra provides the audiences of different cultures with the chance to listen to them with a global taste. It also makes these regional themes grow and stops their fading.

DVD Khonyagaran Mehr Live in Concert

Women’s voice is not just restricted to singing; Now, though their larynxes have been sentenced to silence for years in command of religion, seeing their brilliant achievements in instrumental performance is very pleasing and promising. However, he wisely recognized that the discipline, perseverance, patience and motivation found in women musicians would lead him to a desirable upshot more swiftly.

Mimesis, Mahyar Hemmati

Here, the sounds are in distress, and also the man who is behind the sounds, and also the world, which is the man’s shelter. But why is that so? Perhaps because the sounds insist – inevitably — on singing a chorus which has always been in distress; or perhaps the sounds are the very distress themselves; and even more, and optimistically, they are both this, and that. Struggle, light, and hope; Surrender, darkness, and despair; Connection and disconnection, Victory and defeat. And all this, in a context of irony, humor that ridicule everything. Is it all, striving for order and meaning? Or, for disorder and dismeaning? And the release never comes. The distress seems to remain, does it really? The way keeps on going, entrapped by the fear that might be stopped. And the voyage keeps on going, and also meaning, anticipation, hope, they keep on going; fear and anxiety; and light, light and hope.
